We endeavor to provide a safe, nurturing environment that encourages the growth and development of children in our care.
— Slave Lake Childcare Society

welcome to legacy childcare!

The Slave Lake Child Care Society is a non-profit Daycare organization that was established in 1973.  Our organization is governed by a volunteer board consisting mainly of parents and other interested community members. We provide a place where parents can leave their children when care is needed. Parents can be assured that their children will receive excellent care at our facility. Our facility is located in Slave Lake, Alberta. The programs provide an environment that is conducive to learning. The childcare workers provide an array of activities that foster intellectual, cultural, social, emotional, and physical development. The activities include language development, creative arts, dramatic play, construction with building blocks, supervised play, field trips, games and sports. Daycare staff recognizes that children in our Centre have different needs. We are here to guide them.  Children are encouraged to interact with friends and have the opportunity to participate in active and quiet activities, to meet their needs in a safe and healthy environment while making them feel accepted, respected and secure. The staff in our Daycare Centre are all trained to meet the needs of the children socially, physically, intellectually and emotionally. As well as Early Childhood Development training, all of the staff also have their child/infant CPR and First Aid certificates. The Daycare Centre is set up to provide a safe and pleasant learning environment.

We are proud to be meeting /exceeding all Government Guidelines and

to be named a Licensed Alberta Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Centre!
